The concept and Program for the development of the Belarusian railway transportation economy for 2016-2020:

• improving the quality of the transportation process in accordance with the needs for the transportation of goods, passengers and the requirements of the transport market;
• implementation of new approaches to integrated interaction in the organization of the transportation process in the transport services market of the Republic of Belarus, the Eurasian Economic Union and the formation of a promising system for managing the transportation process on the railway infrastructure, including in the conditions of the Eurasian Economic Union;

• efficient organization of the transportation process within the framework of the implementation of international transit projects for accelerated freight trains, technical and dispatch routes, including container trains;
• increasing labor productivity, reducing the resource intensity of technological processes at railway stations and the introduction of resource-saving technologies for passing trains in infrastructure sections;

• implementation of socially-oriented technologies for organizing the transportation process on the Belarusian Railway, aimed at ensuring a new level of traffic safety, improving labor protection and developing a system for improving the professional level of employees;
• modernization and development of the transportation economy should be innovative in nature and correspond to the general trends in the development of railway transport in the Republic of Belarus;

• an efficiently functioning transportation economy is an essential element of ensuring the competitiveness of the railway transport of the Republic of Belarus both with other modes of transport and with other participants in railway transportation;
• increasing the efficiency of the transportation economy is achieved both through the introduction of innovative technical and technological solutions, the implementation of investment development projects, and by improving the management structure of the transportation process;
• improving the safety of the transportation process is an important state priority for the development of railway transport in the Republic of Belarus.
