The automated system Grafist consists of the following subsystems:

• «Traction calculations», on the basis of which the values of the distance running times, as well as acceleration and deceleration times of various categories of trains are taken;
• «Interval», which allows calculating station intervals for double-track and single-track sections and various combinations of trains;
• «Train schedule», the main tool for building normative and variant train schedules;
• «Train schedule indicators», which allows you to calculate the indicators of the developed schedule and generate accompanying documents.

The software package is used in the construction and adjustment of standard train schedules, the development of variant schedules, the formation of service schedules, the evaluation of options for the promotion of train traffic. Automation of the process of developing and adjusting the regulatory train schedule makes it possible to vary overtaking and crossing stations, to lay the threads of the schedule taking into account different levels of priority of trains, the structure of train traffic and the introduction of speed and weight restrictions of trains.

The automated system Grafist made it possible to automate the activities of the department of «Development of train schedules and organization of windows» of the Transportation Management Center. In addition, this system is used by engineering employees of the Belarusian Railway departments.
