The main directions of scientific research

• the development of new principles for architectural, space-planning and structural construction of civil buildings;
• the problems of theoretical substantiation of the conditions for the architectural formation of residential and industrial zones of the populated areas of the Republic of Belarus;
• the architecture of railway station complexes;
• the architecture of Orthodox churches and monasteries;
• the formation of the interior of the premises of buildings for civil and industrial purposes;
• the engineering communications in the planning structure of cities

Quantitative and qualitative composition

The research involved:

1 Advanced Doctor, 2 Ph.Ds, 6 Senior Lecturers, in the graduate school of the department - 3 postgraduates; in the magistracy - 15 applicants.

Key Scientific Results

The results of scientific developments on the planning and architectural formation of agro-towns were used in the design work of the institutes: the Gomelgrazhdanproekt Institute, OJSC, the Gomelproekt Institute, OJSC, the Gomelobloproekt Institute, OJSC; adopted as practical recommendations by the Office for Urban Planning and Architecture of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee.

The defense of dissertations in these areas: one candidate of architecture has been prepared and another applicant is completing a dissertation.

The public recognition of a science school

The Scientific Prizes: Malkov I.G. - the Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus in the field of architecture (2000).

The Honorary titles: Malkov I.G. - Academician of the Belarusian Academy of Architecture (2000), Professor of the International Academy of Architecture (2012); Bodyako O.A. - Corresponding Member of the Belarusian Academy of Architecture (2006); Kovyrev S.I. - Corresponding Member of the Belarusian Academy of Architecture (2014).
