Opening of the «Summer School of the Russian language 2023» for students from Guangzhou

On October 7, 2023, the Belarusian State University of Transport hosted the opening of the «Summer School of Russian as a Foreign Language 2023» for students of the Guangzhou Railway Vocational Technical College (People's Republic of China) within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the above-mentioned educational institutions.

Teachers of the departments «Slavic and Romano-Germanic Languages» and «General Technical and Special Disciplines» within the framework of the Summer School program «Russian as a Foreign Language 2023» will conduct training not only in the course of Russian as a foreign language, but also in a number of special disciplines.

The opening ceremony was held in the conference hall of the university.

The event was broadcast online in Guangzhou. The Chinese side was attended by college students.

Rector of BSUT Yuri Ivanovich Kulazhenko warmly welcomed the representatives of the Guangzhou College and the Guangdong Union for Scientific and Technical Cooperation with the CIS countries.

The head of the Chinese delegation, Mr. Wang Chao, and one of the college students made a response speech.

The opening ceremony was conducted by the dean of the Faculty of Education of Foreign Citizens Vlasyuk Tatyana Arkadyevna, who introduced all the participants of the project from the Belarusian and Chinese sides and demonstrated a presentation revealing the main milestones of the joint Belarusian-Chinese project.

Ms. Huang Yucun, Manager of the Guangdong Union, provided invaluable assistance with the translation into Chinese.

In front of all the participants of the grand opening of the summer school, students of the faculties of «Industrial and civil engineering» and «transportation process management», a student of the Faculty of Education of foreign Citizens from Moldova, the chairman of the student trade union committee Anna Krasnik, the choir of BSUT together with our students from China performed concert numbers.

After the ceremonial part, the guests took a tour of the educational laboratories and classrooms of the university.

Representatives of the Guangzhou College visited the I.G. Tikhomirov Training Laboratory «Traffic Management». The Chinese guests were interested in a 1:87 scale model of the railway.

And, of course, the educational laboratory «Transportation Management Center» surprised with its functionality.

The Faculty of Industrial and Civil Engineering presented the works of architecture students to the guests. The skill with which the models of buildings were made, the level of professional completion of the theses presented at the permanent exhibition, caused admiration for the talent of our students-architects and respect for their teachers.

And then the students and teachers of the college went to their first classes.

They have a busy 10-day program ahead of them. We hope, despite the rainy and cold weather, our Chinese guests will be comfortable both at the university and in our hostel, in the city and the country as a whole.
