Visit of the delegation of the Guangzhou Vocational Technical College on the eve of the 70th anniversary of BIRTE-BSUT

On November 14-16, 2023, a delegation consisting of six representatives of the Guangzhou Vocational Technical College (GVTC) visited our university to congratulate our university on the 70th anniversary and to conduct negotiations on expanding cooperation between GVTC and BSUT.

On November 14, members of the delegation headed by the Secretary of the Party Committee of the GVTC Mr. Zhang Zhujun at a working meeting with the first vice-rector of our university Samodum Yu.G., vice-rector for academic affairs Kazakov N.N., vice-rector for scientific work Yerofeyev A.A. and dean of the faculty of education of foreign citizens Vlasyuk T.A. discussed joint educational projects in the specialties «Management of operational work in railway transport» (with the participation of the dean of the faculty «Management of transportation processes» Kekish N.A.), «Railway power supply equipment» (with the participation of the dean of the mechanics faculty Lodnia V.A.) and «Automation, telemechanics and communication in railway transport» (with the participation of dean of the electrotechnical faculty Satyrev F.E.).

During the meeting, the delegation from Guangzhou presented options for integrating curricula in the specialty «Management of operational work on rail transport» and proposed a scheme for joint training of сhinese students with the participation of teachers of BSUT, and subsequently college graduates – at the university. The immediate prospects of sending students of the Guangzhou College to Gomel to study the Russian language, as well as the issues of training teachers of the GVTC in the master's and postgraduate courses of BSUT were discussed.

The meeting was held in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and ended with the achievement of agreements on all the planned areas that will begin to be implemented in the near future.

In the afternoon of November 14, the Chinese delegation met with college graduates who are currently students of BSUT within the framework of a joint educational program, as well as with the vice-rector for scientific work Erofeev A.A., head of the testing center Komissarov V.V. and deputy head of the certification center Zaichik V.S. discussed projects related to testing and certification imported railway transport equipment.

On November 15, the Secretary of the GVTC Party Committee, Mr. Zhang Zhujun, addressed the students of BSUT with a speech about the Guangzhou Vocational Technical College. The opening ceremony of the Joint Belarusian-Chinese Scientific and Educational Center named after Tian Yu was held.

The Dean of the Faculty of education of foreign citizens, T.A. Vlasyuk, presented a presentation about the personality of Tan Yu and his contribution to the history of the development of railways in China.

Also on this day, the chinese delegation visited the Gomel College – a branch of BSUT. A tour of the college was organized for them, after which issues of mutual academic mobility of representatives of the two railway colleges were discussed.

On November 16, on the first day of the V International Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the 70th anniversary of BIRTE-BSUT, Mr. Zhang Zhujun, on behalf of the entire delegation of the GVTC, symbolically delivered a speech on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of BSUT, in which he noted the deep long-term friendship of BSUT and the Guangzhou Railway Polytechnic College, as well as a great influence cooperation in the development of transport education both in China and in Belarus:

«Today I am very glad to join all of you at the ceremony dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Belarusian State University of Transport to witness and celebrate this exciting historical moment. On behalf of Guangzhou Railway Polytechnic Institute, I would like to convey my warm congratulations to BSUT, as well as heartfelt greetings and deepest respect to the teachers, students, staff and graduates of BSUT! On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of BSUT, I sincerely hope that the two schools will continue to deepen cooperation, strive for high results, and also make a new and even greater contribution to the further development of partnership relations between China and Belarus ...» – Mr. Zhang Zhujun stressed in his speech.

The guests of our university expressed their gratitude for the hospitable meeting, warm welcome and friendly attitude towards them. The chinese and belarusian sides exchanged symbolic souvenirs and expressed readiness for further fruitful cooperation.
