Results of the XIX International Olympiad in Theoretical Mechanics

Our university held a solemn ceremony to award the winners and prize winners of the XIX International Engineering Mechanics Contest. The ceremony was held in Russian and English.
The participants of the Contest were greeted by the Vice-Rector for research of our university, Doctor of Engineering, Professor Alexander Erofeev. He also presented the winners and prize winners with their well-deserved awards.
According to the results of the personal theoretical competition, the highest number of points was scored by student Cao Ying, who representes Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan.
In addition to her, first-degree diplomas and gold medals were awarded to:
Cui Zijian, Beijing Institute of Technology;
Zhang Baiming, Zhejiang University;
Cao Hongyi, Tsinghua University;
Chengxuan Huang, Xi'an Jiaotong University.
In accordance with the regulations of our Contest, the next 10 students were awarded diplomas and silver medals, and 15 students were awarded diplomas and bronze medals.
The results of the the team competitionwere also summed up based on the results of the three best participants. Here, the teams from Zhejiang University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, scored the highest number of points and were awarded first-degree diplomas. In addition, the jury awarded the best non-Chinese team – the State Power Engineering Institute of Turkmenistan.
По итогам командного конкурса the Brain Ring team competition students from China also showed the best results, and the team from Huazhong University of Science and Technology won.
It should be noted that of the 12 universities representing the People's Republic of China, six are in the top hundred, and three are in the top two hundred best universities in the world, so their dominance is quite justified.
When leaving, the participants of the Contest thanked for the reception they received and expressed hope to meet at our university next year.
