On March 28, 2026, a remarkable event unfolded at the university’s sports field – one that wasn’t planned but became a true lesson in mutual understanding and kindness.
Foreign students of Belarusian State University of Transport from Congo came to play football. But Belarusian children aged 10 to 14, who happened to be nearby, were so eager to join that the gathering spontaneously turned into a very meaningful match.
From the very first minutes, it was clear this would be more than just a game – it was a dialogue between cultures. The international students, while showing their football skills, played with great care, supported their young opponents, and cheered them on. The most touching moment came when one of the Congolese students switched to the children’s team to support them not only with words but also on the field. In return, one of the young players moved to the “opponents’” side – to wish victory to his new friends.
No one kept score. The real result was smiles, hugs, and sincere joy.
After the final whistle, the children didn’t want to leave. They asked hopefully: “Will there be another game tomorrow?” And over the weekend, parents said their kids could talk about nothing else.
The gathering ended with a group photo capturing the full range of emotions – from happiness to gratitude.

Both children and parents expressed hope that these Saturday games could become a wonderful tradition. After all, there is no better way to nurture genuine tolerance and respect for other cultures than through sport – where language, age, or skill level matter less than the ability to support one another, share joy, and simply be together.
