Participation of BelSUT in the program of professional and cultural exchange "Community Connections"

Associate Professor of the Department of "Customs" Shestak Olga N. as head of the intellectual and economic club BASE took part in the program of professional and cultural exchange "Community Connections" (April, 2018). As part of 10 representatives of the business community from Belarus, she completed a three-week internship on the topic "Entrepreneurship Training Programs" in Kansas City, Missouri, United States of America.
The purpose of the internship was to study the experience of organizing entrepreneurship in the USA. During the training the delegation from Belarus visited the business management and education organizations of the Kansas City.
The internship program made it possible to get acquainted with the legislation and experience of the USA in support of entrepreneurship, development and dissemination of innovations, the functioning of the business support infrastructure, learn about the principles of work of business support organizations, including sources of financing, technologies for commercialization and dissemination of innovations, mechanisms for interaction between the state, universities and private business. Of particular interest was the way in which capital, education, lifestyle, culture and state support formed a system in which beginning entrepreneurs successfully develop their projects, increasing the welfare of the state.
The distinctive features of the "Community Connections" program are professional trainings, activity planning, participation in volunteer work of the community. During the program, the host organization Global Ties organized meetings on interesting professional issues. The placement of representatives of the delegation in American families allowed them to learn more about the culture of the USA.
The acquired knowledge, experience and skills are planned to be used in work with students of the Intellectual Economic Club BASE with the aim of providing an entrepreneurial mission in the educational process.
