Our students are finalists of the VII International Engineering Championship "CASE-IN"

On May 30-31, 2019, the final of the VII International Engineering Championship “CASE-IN” took place. It’s subjects were “Digital Transformation”.
CASE-IN is an international competition system for solving engineering cases for pupils, students and young professionals. The main goal of the championship is to identify and support talented students in schools and professional educational organizations and universities, young professionals, as well as to assist them in obtaining practical and professional knowledge and experience.
In 2019, over 500 students from 57 universities in Russia and the CIS countries, as well as young professionals from 15 companies in the fuel and energy complex, took part in the championship final to solve engineering cases in seven areas. In the direction of "Energy" the right to represent the Belarusian State University of Transport was earned by the team "Three Phases and Neutral", which included 4th year students of the mechanical faculty of specialization 1-43 01 03 "Power supply of railways":

- Kuptsov Alexander Viktorovich,
- Saskevich Evgeny Viktorovich,
- Tanana Yevgeny Olegovich.
Preparation for the final was in the decision of the Final Case on the theme “Systems for diagnosing power transformer equipment and power lines”, for which teams were given 10 days: to determine the list of key and promising technological tasks using automated monitoring systems and diagnostics of power transformer equipment and power lines; to form an architecture for building a unified software and hardware complex for an automated system for monitoring and diagnosing equipment; form an organizational structure and define organizational interaction between departments; propose a draft technical solution for the technical implementation and construction of a unified software and hardware complex of an automated system for monitoring and diagnosing equipment; develop solutions to improve the energy efficiency of operating modes and technological operation of equipment.
The opening ceremony of the VII International Engineering Championship was attended by the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation A.Yu. Inyutsyn, head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs of the Russian Federation A.V. V. Bugaev, as well as the deputy general director of the “Russia is a country of opportunities” autonomous non-profit organization V.A. Davankov.
To defend the final cases, the teams prepared oral presentations of no more than six minutes, after which the experts asked questions to assess the level of knowledge and the depth of working out decisions. Tense wrestling teams lasted two days.
In the framework of the championship CASE-IN 2019, a master class of Oleg Braginsky was held, at which the theme was revealed: “Achievement, as a way to victories”. The participants of the VII International Engineering Championship "CASE-IN" were given memorable gifts, as well as certificates of the finalists of the student league.
The team “Three Phases and Neutral” expresses gratitude to Yury Ivanovich Kulazhenko, Rector of the University, First Vice-Rector Yury Samodum, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanics, as well as teachers Oksana Sergeyevna Ananyeva, Vadim Aleksandrovich Zagortsev and Valeria Nikolayevna Podolskaya for valuable advice and training in the preparation for the championship to the competition.
The university sent a letter of thanks from the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Vsevolod Lvovich Vukolov to the university rector Yuri Ivanovich Kulazhenko for his active participation, assistance and fruitful cooperation within the framework of the organization of the International Engineering Championship “CASE-IN”.
