The development was commissioned by the carriage service of the Belarusian Railway.

In accordance with GOST 10527, the service life of the KVZ-TsNII-I, KVZ-TsNII-M trolleys built after September 1, 1990 is 28 years. Since such trolleys are a significant part of the total number of passenger cars operated by the Belarusian Railway, it is not possible to replace the entire required number of trolleys with new ones in the shortest possible time due to the high cost.

The developed methodology establishes the main provisions and requirements for carrying out work to extend the service life of trolleys.
