The main directions of scientific research
- the improving the efficiency and modernization of brake systems of railway rolling stock
- the forecasting the residual life of the rolling stock;
- the designing new promising structures for passenger and freight rolling stock of railways;
- the development of effective, resource-saving technologies to increase the reliability of rolling stock structures.
- Study of the processes of friction and wear in moving mates of machines and mechanisms operating in the conditions of boundary lubrication; development of operational methods and means of monitoring the state of rolling linkings.
- Development and application of technology for hydropressic assembly of rolling stock units, as well as technology for non-destructive testing and means of diagnostic strength conjugation of compounds with a guaranteed preload.
The main scientific results
- the development and implementation of the project “Belarusian Passenger Car” at the Gomel and Minsk car repair plants, based on the original technology for assessing the residual bearing capacity and which allowed solving the problem of import substitution of cars in the passenger fleet of the Republic of Belarus. To date, about a hundred wagons have been built that are not inferior in terms of comfort and safety to analogues produced by the factories of Russia and Ukraine. For this project, the team of authors was awarded the medal of the laureate of the All-Russian Exhibition Center (Moscow);
- the development of an effective technology for non-destructive testing and diagnostic tools for the strength of coupling of joints with a guaranteed tightness of the wheelsets of wagons using a calculation-experimental method for determining the stress state of the covering part (wheel hub, axlebox bearing ring) of pressing, ensuring quality, performance and safety in the manufacture, repair and operation (based on tensometric assessment of VAT of parts of controlled compounds). The novelty and usefulness of the developed technology and technological equipment is confirmed by 9 patents for inventions of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus for implementation methods and control devices. The results of the tested comprehensive tests confirmed the advantages of the developed technology, which allows us to consider it as promising for practical use;
- the resource-saving technologies in mechanical assembly during the manufacture and repair of rolling stock and technological methods for improving the operational reliability of rolling stock. Most developed technologies have more than 14 patents for inventions;
- the development and application of the technology of hydropress assembly of machine assemblies of the “shaft sleeve”, “wheel-axis” type, as well as methods and devices for its implementation and subsequent control of the resulting mates. The implementation at the car repair enterprises of the proposed innovative solutions in this area significantly increases the reliability of the running gear of railway rolling stock;
- the development of a set of technical solutions for the modernization, improvement and strengthening of existing designs of wagons of a wide size range, are successfully implemented in the design, manufacture and modernization of freight rolling stock at domestic car building and car repair enterprises;
- the reprofiling unclaimed railway rolling stock. The implementation of the project for the conversion of 157 wagons for the transportation of petroleum bitumen into platform wagons for the transportation of timber made it possible to obtain an annual economic effect of more than 2 billion bel.r. (2009);
- there are 2 Advanced Doctors and 9 Ph.D.s of Engineering Sciences had been prepared, more than 400 scientific papers had been published. Including 6 monographs; 18 textbooks and teaching aids, more than 150 patents for inventions and utility models of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.
