The Summer School of Russian as a Foreign Language 2019 for students of the Guangzhou Railway Polytechnic (PRC) ended August 12, 2019.
It was an incredibly eventful two weeks. The students combined Russian language lessons with excursions in Gomel and its environs.
They visited the Gomel Museum of History and Local Lore in Pokolyubichi, touched the history of agriculture in the Gomel region and the life of the 60s of the XX century.
For a long time and with interest they examined the towels, icons, books and other antiquities, most of which were created manually, in the Vetka Museum of the Old Believers and Belarusian traditions. They tried to colour the initial letters.
We visited the park - how could it be without it?
Teachers of the Department of Operational Work Management and Labour Protection showed the Chinese students how their Belarusian colleagues, students of the specialty "Organization of Transportation and Management of Railway Transport", are studying.
We visited the railway station Gomel-Odd of the Gomel branch of the Belarusian Railway, where the process of dissolution of combined trains was demonstrated. At the Kostyukovka railway station, students received answers to their questions on the specifics of the formation of freight train routes.
We sat at the simulators “Diesel Locomotive Engineer” and “Electric Locomotive Engineer” of the Road Centre for training, retraining and advanced training of personnel of the Belarusian Railway.
We took part in a master-class on needlework at the Museum of Decorative and Applied Arts of students of the Uritskaya High School, and also visited the Information and Education Centre “Russian Museum: a virtual branch”, opened in the same school.
The presentation of certificates of the Russian language course as a foreign language took place in a solemn, but not formal setting. The gratitude to the organizers of the "Summer School", which could not be conveyed in Russian and English words, was expressed by the students in songs, dances and drawings.
